His half-brother Barkston Ash (Kyllachy) won four handicaps in 2011 over 6f. His second dam Charmante (Alydar) won three races in the UK and the USA and was the dam of Charlock (Nureyev) who was Group 3 and Listed placed. The third dam French Charmer (Le Fabuleux) on the Group 2 Del Mar Oaks and was the dam of 1989 Champion three-year-old miler in Europe Zilzal (Nureyev).

Cellist has improved considerably and now boasts a really strong shoulder though he still needs to strengthen behind the saddle. He is bred to be a middle distance performer and he could even develop into a staying horse. He is currently doing two canters up Warren hill and all being well, William would like him to make a start imminently.
