Activate ran three times as a two year old, showing improvement on each occasion and just failing to win on his last start. This neat son of first season sire Motivator looks a real improver in the making and like his sire, should be more effective as he steps up in trip.

Activate put up a tremendous effort to win a highly competitive affair at Haydock on 4th September. The early pace in the race was fast and furious but Hayley Turner quite rightly did not panic and settled Activate just in behind the leaders. The horse was always going well and as they swung round the home bend a lovely gap opened on the rail which gave Activate the space he needed. Hayley asked Activate for an effort and he responded well to take the lead, seeing off a serious challenge inside the last two furlongs. Gamely, he responded to Hayley's urgings and rallied really well, staying on to win impressively.
