This powerful filly by Danehill Dancer went through big physical changes during the spring of last season and Michael Jarvis quite rightly gave her the time she needed before making a highly impressive winning debut showing a real turn of foot. She suffered a setback prior to the valuable Tattersalls 800 and was put away for the season.
Unfortunately nothing went right for Decorative at Sandown on 21st August. She went to post well but down at the start she lost a shoe and had to be re-plated, which was an unwanted distraction. In the race itself she broke slowly, but the field then crawled and she began to race too freely in behind horses. She ran wide coming into the home straight, but Philip Robinson could already feel that she was hating the ground and he very much looked after her throughout the last couple of furlongs. We will put a line through this effort and re-group when conditions are in her favour, which could easily be within the next two to three weeks.
