Rose Blossom ran on five occasions as a two year old, winning twice and breaking the track record at Hamilton on her debut. Following her victory at Haydock, she ran down the field in the Lowther Stakes (Gr 2) at York but put up a much improved performance in the Flying Childers Stakes (Gr 2) at Doncaster.

Rose Blossom ran an absolute blinder when finishing second, being beaten only ¾ length in The Scarborough Stakes (Listed) at Doncaster. What makes this result even more pleasing is the fact that she was carrying a three pound penalty for her Group 3 win and against older horses. Once again she hit the gates running and the others could not live with her early speed. It was really good to see the filly more relaxed in front today than when at York and she had many of the other runners off the bridle at the half way stage. She was still at the head of affairs as the others came to make their challenge inside the final two furlongs and she battled on well although the eventual winner Prohibit was sitting in behind her and passed Rose Blossom to take the lead in the last hundred yards.

It is good to see the filly running so consistently and the plan now is to head to Longchamp for the Prix de l’Abbaye (Gr 1) on Sunday 3rd October.
