We have bought another exciting jumps prospect in the shape of Super Kenny, a dual winner and Listed placed son of top French sire, Kendor. Graham Bradley and Nicky Henderson attended the Saint–Cloud Autumn Sale in France and managed to secure him for 60,000 Euros. He really is a lovely horse that ticks all the boxes; he has good flat race form in France and had won at Chantilly in October and finished in the frame in all of his five starts this season. The real excitement, though, was that in his last race a couple of weeks ago he finished third in a Listed event - beaten only a length by the winner Marinous trained by Freddie Head. Super Kenny was only done a nose by the second horse which gave him a rating in the mid-90’s.
He is a fine individual with a tremendous depth of girth and he looks to be the type who will continue to strengthen and fill to his frame the older he gets. Nicky is pleased with Super Kenny’s progress and sees him as natural jumper and an exciting prospect.
Super Kenny had been declared to make his hurdling debut at Newbury on Friday 5th March but infuriatingly knocked himself when pulling out first thing that morning and subsequently was a non-runner. This was hugely frustrating but thankfully he is now sound and he will now hopefully make his debut at Stratford on Monday 15th March.
