He is by dual-purpose sire Victory Note (Fairy King) who stands at Diary House Stud near Warminster. His dam Vallee Doree was a 10 ½ furlong winner in France and is a half-sister to Melbo (Grape Tree Road) who won over 12 furlongs in France before two hurdle victories at Auteuil. Vallee Doree was grand-dam to Vol Solitaire (Loup Solitaire) who won a Grade 2 race over hurdles and was talented over fences winning the Grade 2 Future Champion Novices Chase at Ayr and finished second in the Grade 1 Martell Maghull Novices Chase at Aintree.
