A Tattersalls October Yearling sale Book 1 purchase, he is by the leading European sire by black-type winners Dansili (Danehill). His Group 1 winners include Highclere’s King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes hero Harbinger and Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe winner Rail Link. He is out of multiple Listed winner La Persiana who is by Daylami who was broodmare sire of Group 1 winning two-year-old Arcano. Persepolis is a half-brother to Qushichi (Encosta de Lago) who has won three times from 7 to 12f. La Persiana is a half-sister to 1993 Champion two-year-old in Europe Grand Lodge (Chief’s Crown) and his full-brother Papabile who won two Listed races. His third dam Magic Flute won the Cheveley Park Stakes and the then Group 2 Coronation Stakes (now Group 1).
