A British-bred son of Cheveley Park Stud stallion Medicean, Tuscan Gold was bought at the 2011 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training sale. Medicean is better known for his progeny on the flat but he has sired dual Grade 2 hurdle winner Trenchant. Out of the El Gran Senor mare Louella who was twice placed over 12 furlongs in France. He is a half-brother to the top class Leadership (Selkirk) who won the Group 1 Gran Premio di Milano and Group 3 winner Havant (Halling). His half-sister Slieve is the dam of Highclere’s Group 3 winner Census. His grand dam Celtic Loot is by the great sire and broodmare sire Irish River.
