Bought at the Doncaster two-year-old Breeze up sale, he is by The Royal Studs sire Royal Applause (Waajib) who was a top-class two-year-old and sprinter. Many of his offspring are precocious and he is emerging as a sire of sires through his sons Acclamation and Majestic Missile. Usain Colt is a half-brother to three time five furlong winner Now You See Me (Anabaa). Their dam Bright Vision (Indian Ridge) was unraced but is a half-sister to Singing Poet (Singspiel) who won the Listed Jebel Ali Stakes in Dubai and Goldtown (Sunday Silence) who recorded four wins in Australia and was third in the Group 2 McMillan Print Tulloch Stakes. Bright Vision’s dam Bright Finish (Zilzal) was a smart French sprinter.
LATEST NEWS
Usian Colt put up a respectable effort in very testing conditions at Newbury recently. Having pulled too hard in the early stages Usian Colt looked at one point as if he could be competitive, before getting tired in the soft ground. He is sure to come on for this race and we will look to run him on better ground next time.
