By Australian sprint sensation Choisir (Danehill Dancer) who was a champion at two and three-years-old on his native soil. He memorably took Royal Ascot by storm when winning the Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes and Group 2 King’s Stand Stakes in the same week. Varnish is the first foal of Bronze Star (Mark of Esteem) who won two races over 10f. She is a half-sister to Eldalil (Singspiel) who finished second in the Group 2 Ribbesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot. Varnish’s third dam Much Too Risky (Bustino) was the dam of 12 winners including Little Rock (Warning), winner of the Group 2 Princess of Wales Stakes, Whitewateraffair (Machiavellian) who won the Group 2 Prix de Pomone at Deauville and the Group 3 John Porter Stakes and finished second in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks, Irish St. Leger and Hardwicke Stakes. She in turn is the dam of Victoire Pisa (Neo Universe) who won the Group 1 Japanese 2,000 Guineas.
