One of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing’s star turns of 2010, Approve who now stands at Morristown Lattin Stud in Ireland, had his first foal yesterday morning at Yeomanstown Stud.
His first arrival was a filly out of Bakewell Tart, a Listed-winning daughter of Tagula, and is described as an “attractive filly, with excellent bone and good size”.
Bakewell Tart has already produced the triple winner Chester Deelyte (Desert Style) and her two-year-old colt by Dark Angel is being aimed at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up Sale in May.
Trained by William Haggas for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, Approve proved an admirably tough and consistent juvenile in 2010, winning the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes before finishing second in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes and the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes. He was acquired by Morristown Lattin Stud at the end of that year.
The son of Oasis Dream out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Wyola stands for a fee of €5,000.
