Boudoir justified her odds of 5/6 favourite when winning the 32Red Casino Median Auction Maiden Fillies Stakes over seven furlongs on the all-weather at Kempton. The filly missed the break but jockey Dane O’Neil was content to let her sit behind her five rivals for the first half of the race where she travelled sweetly.
As the tempo increased rounding the home turn, Dane was sitting motionless on Boudoir as she easily accelerated. At the two furlong pole, Dane asked the filly to make her move up the rail and the response was instantaneous. She went at least a length in front but tired a little near the post and Kickingthelilly gradually reduced the distance between them and at the line, a short head separated the two with Naughtical half a length in third.
This was satisfiying achievement for Boudoir who struggled with the confines of training as an unraced two-year-old, but due to some specialist attention, time and patience, she has proved she is a filly with talent winning on only her third racecourse appearance.
