Back To Back Wins For Ferus

20th March, 2020

Breaking his maiden in an impressive fashion at Terang in February was all the confidence Ferus (Written Tycoon x Mirage Rouge) needed as he charged forward into his next race at Warrnambool to achieve a dominant 5 length win.

Linda Meech was on board to guide him again and commented straight after the race “he did that so easy it felt like a track gallop”.

The Ciaron Maher stable were very pleased with his efforts as they know how difficult it is to win 2 in row, especially coming straight off a maiden win.

Ferus is a lightly raced 3yo with 6 starts, 2 wins and a 3rd placing, his 2yo races showed us we just needed to be patient, he had some common racehorse issues we had to get past, then he was gelded and given a long spell through the Melbourne winter and most of spring, giving him time to grow and strengthen.

He doesn’t have the build of a gladiator (yet) but he does hold his condition better now and he is slowly growing into a bigger and stronger horse, hopefully he will continue to improve as we have plans to get him to a city race track in the near future.
