Commodity strikes on seasonal reappearance
12th April, 2017
Commodity, a lightly-raced four year old son of Dutch Art, struck gold on his seasonal debut at Windsor racecourse on Monday afternoon for Sir Michael Stoute and the Wellington Syndicate. Under an expert display from Ryan Moore, Commodity broke slowly but responded well when asked to go forward to stay on the pace. Around four furlongs from home, Ryan asked Commodity for his effort, and although it took him a moment to react when he did so he travelled forward well, seeing off the challenge from the second-placed horse Marcano, who was finishing with a wet sail! We were delighted with his performance, with a horse that has required patience, but hopefully he can go onwards and upwards from here.
