Crievehill makes winning return at Wetherby
16th October, 2019
Crievehill thrilled his owners with a bold jumping display when making most of the running to win the Bobby Renton Handicap Chase at Wetherby on 16 October 2019.
Trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies and ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies, the son of Arcadio, who had last been seen when finishing fourth in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival, attacked all 16 fences and after being left further clear fourth last bounded to a nine-length win from Kayf Blanco.
He had been in flying form at home and overcame the shorter than ideal distance and going, with a return to longer distances on softer going likely to suit him even better. There are plenty of options ahead for him this season, not least with his trainer eyeing a possible tilt at the Grand National in April!
