Double delight with Clondaw Anchor and Fantail

20th November, 2019

Clondaw Anchor and Fantail were both easy winners on Tuesday, 19 November 2019, giving Highclere Thoroughbred Racing an across the card double at Lingfield and Chelmsford.

Clondaw Anchor was the first winner as he sauntered his first win over fences in a Class 3 handicap chase at Lingfield, galloping his way to victory as his opposition fell away one by one.  He looks an exciting staying handicap chaser in the making for the Anchor Syndicate and his trainer Dan Skelton.

Fantail has always been regarded as a very nice prospect and she looked potentially full of class as she destroyed a field of potentially very nice fillies to bring up the second of our double in a 1m Novice Stakes at Chelmsford.  She took a strong hold but never looked to be in any danger and looked in a completely different league to her rivals.  She could well be a Classic prospect for next year and it was a rewarding first run for the Claire Lomas Syndicate, winning a £14,000 race and a Plus 10 bonus!
