Libran Points To The Sky High

14th March, 2018

Libran's share holders will be hoping for a repeat of the Spring's Gr 3 Kingston Town Stakes as he is all set to line up in the Autumn equivalent of the Gr 3 Sky High Stakes on Saturday at Rosehill Gardens. Brenton Avdulla re-engages with the horse in the second race on the card at 12.55pm, where he will jump from stall two. While the ground is currently reading a Soft 7, there are clear and warm conditions forecast until Saturday so we are hopeful of the ground improving into the Good to Soft range which would be ideal for Libran's chances.

The son of Lawman has come back in terrific order this preparation after finishing a closing fourth behind Winx in the Gr 1 Chipping Norton Stakes first-time out this preparation. The son of Lawman has a great second up record and looks to be going better this time around. While ideally placed under set-weight conditions, there are several clear dangers to his chances on Saturday with two of those coming from his own camp. Chris has the top three in the weight scale with Who Shot Thebarman and Mackintosh sharing the 56.5kg allotment. Who Shot Thebarman ran on credibly in the Gr 1 Chipping Norton to finish a couple of lengths adrift of Libran after taking the wider route around the home bend. While Libran got the rails run through that day, the inside gate for Thebarman could pose a threat of turning the tables. You certainly can't rule him out.

"He has come back extremely well and his first up run was excellent, he won second up last preparation over the same distance and on that occasion there was good speed on up front. The horse looks well and has worked well this week." Chris Waller

Wishing his share owners the very best of luck this weekend!
