Luminate knocked down for 900,000 guineas to new partnership

5th December, 2018

Trained by Freddy Head, Luminate has been a thrilling ride for her wonderful group of owners for the past two seasons. She won the Prix de Conde (Gr.3) as a two-year old by an impressive three lengths before following through on that form as a three-year-old with a win in the Prix Penelope (Gr. 3) at Saint Cloud. A dual Group 3 winner, Luminate is also out of a half- sister to GI Breeders' Cup Turf winner Kalanisi (Ire) (Doyoun {GB}). A headline act of Tattersalls December Breeding Stock sale, she was knocked down to John Warren for 900,000 on behalf of clients, Newsells Park and Merry Fox Farm.

Julian Dollar of Newsells Park was thrilled to land Luminate. "I had my heart set on her but with the market so hot I thought we wouldn't be able to get anywhere near her," he said. "I absolutely love her, she's the most beautiful filly here. And I'm delighted as well to be able to do something with Craig, we've wanted to for a while but just hadn't found the right opportunity."
