Mam’selle is victorious on debut at Salisbury

19th May, 2017

Mam'selle is a gorgeous looking three-year-old filly by Teofilo out of Coquette Rouge, which makes her a half-sister to Jacqueline Quest. She was given plenty of time by her trainer William Haggas and gosh was it worth the wait when she came out and won her first start in a 1m2f maiden at Salisbury beating the Juddmonte owned Circulation, a half-sister to Twice Over. She was given a lovely ride by jockey Robert Winston to win The Smith & Williamson Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Div II) and although she showed her inexperience when wandering around in the straight, she fought on gamely to take the race by a nose! This filly will undoubtedly benefit from a step up in trip and given her smart pedigree there could be plenty more to come from her.
