The Cartier Racing Awards 2020

28th October, 2020

Public voting now open for 2020 Cartier Racing Awards

Voting is now open for the 2020 Cartier Racing Awards via www.cartierracingawards.co.uk

Forms for those wishing to vote by post will also be available in the coming days in the Daily Telegraph and Racing Post.

As well as having a direct influence on who will come out on top at the Cartier Racing Awards, one lucky voter will also be handed a special prize courtesy of Cartier.

Laurent Feniou, Managing Director of Cartier UK, commented “It has been an incredible sporting season, albeit an unusual one in light of the new regulation the racing world has adapted to. I am truly inspired by these displays of resilience, capturing the true essence and spirit of the sport.”

Harry Herbert, Cartier’s Racing Consultant, added: “In spite of the obvious challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 European Flat season has presented us with many memorable moments.

“The Cartier Racing Awards present a unique opportunity for the public to be involved in determining the champions of 2020 in a meaningful way and I urge everyone to vote for their best horses of 2020 via www.cartierracingawards.co.uk or the forms in the Daily Telegraph ad Racing Post.

“This year will be the 30th time the Cartier Racing Awards have been presented and I would like to thank Cartier for its generous and ongoing support, not least in today’s challenging circumstances.”

The 30th annual Cartier Racing Awards will be awarded in November. Cartier continues its ongoing support with the presentation of Cartier Racing Awards in 2020, despite the cancellation of the traditional awards ceremony at The Dorchester in London, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Cartier looks forward to resuming the awards ceremony in 2021.

There is no substantial change in the latest standings for the 2020 Cartier Racing Awards, with Magical (120) and the now-retired Ghaiyyath (118) almost neck and neck in the standings for Cartier Horse of the Year. The final G1 contest of 2020 in the UK was the Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster on October 24, which went to Mac Swiney (48), homebred by his trainer Jim Bolger. Mac Swiney now lies joint-second in the standings for Cartier Two-Year-Old Colt.
