Union Too Strong At Newcastle

8th January, 2020

Union had looked a horse full on abundant promise when running on strongly to finish fifth  on his racecourse debut at Kempton and he made the anticipated improvement from that initial effort when running out at emphatic winner at Newcastle today.

A well-bred son of New Approach, Union is expected to relish a trip of ten furlongs plus in time but he coped extremely well with the seven furlongs again on this occasion and in a matter of strides put the race to bed when quickening clear inside the final furlong.

Union coasted home to win by 1 3/4 lengths from the well-regarded second Blow Your Horn and looks a horse of some potential for the year ahead.

Congratulations to all of his owners in the Hannah Stodel Syndicate, his trainer Roger Varian and jockey Jack Mitchell.
