Confederate (GB)

This magnificent looking son of Teofilo was very well bought by John from the Tattersalls Book 1 sale. He cost 100,000 guineas so, for that sale, really fell through the net as he boasts a terrific pedigree and physically he is an important individual. His dam, Merry Jaunt, is a daughter of the Group 1 winner Light Jig making her a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Seek Again and the Group 3 winner Treble Jig. Teofilo himself is proving to be a very successful stallion producing numerous Group 1 winners including the likes of Havana Gold and Trading Leather etc. This colt is the second foal from the mare – the first foal a son of High Chaparral called Cornwallis was highly regarded but tragically died as a two-year-old in training with Luca Cumani.  Confederate made significiant physical progress during last season and has developed into a very impressive looking colt.

Confederate has recovered well from a minor setback that kept him off the track and he is back cantering now. With any luck he will now have a clear run and we look forward to his racecourse debut with much anticipation.
