If You Say Run

If You Say Run has won five times to date for her owners and finished second on six occasions. Her trait of swerving markedly left after the last (which jockeys have put down to her being out in front on her own with no company) has meant they have had their hearts in their mouths, but there is no doubting her ability and she is a highly-rated hurdler and now an exciting novice chaser.

She has developed into a very consistent black type performer, just going down in a Listed Mares contest at Haydock in February.  If You Say Run competed in the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March 2019 but did not act on the testing ground.

This lovely mare, who stays well, enjoyed a well-deserved summer break and made her debut in a Novices’ Chase at Worcester.  A real standout in the parade ring, she jumped boldly and led on the bit two from home.  She got a little tired in the closing stages, but the outcome was never in any doubt and she posted a very comfortable 6-length victory.  Her latest two starts have been at Wincanton, firstly finishing a highly creditable second to the potentially top-class Reverse Tank in the Grade 2 'Rising Stars' Novices' Chase and then finishing second to Annie Mc in a Mares' Novices' Chase on Boxing Day.  Latterly she showed a tendency to jump markedly left and she is now likely to race at a left-handed track.
