Immaculate

This is a very well-made and strong filly by the high-class stallion Invincible Spirit, who stood for a covering fee in 2019 of €120,000.  Invincible Spirit was a top-class sprinter and the winner of seven races, his finest hour coming in the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup and he also beat the six-furlong track record when winning the Gr.3 Aon MacDonagh Boland Stakes at The Curragh.

Since 2009 Invincible Spirit has sired the winners of well over 100 races in each season and a very healthy percentage of black-type horses.  His top performers during a distinguished career have been Charm Spirit, Kingman, Lawman, Profitable and the new young sire sensation Cable Bay. Immaculate's dam Coquette Noire was a 7f maiden winner at The Curragh for Kevin Prendergast and this young mare has already produced the useful performer Thunderbolt Rocks, a two-time winner with a Racing Post Rating of 90!  Coquette Noire is also a half-sister to Jacqueline Quest, the demoted (to second place) winner of the 1,000 Guineas and dam of the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner Line Of Duty.

Immaculate was somewhat green on her debut at Kempton, showing good early speed but running too freely which meant she didn't get home. Next time out she came 5th out of 12 runners at Yarmouth. She led most of the way in testing conditions and battled on well, only to be run out of third on the line. She then finished down the field in tacky conditions in her next outing at Doncaster where she travelled well but struggled to find anything in the ground. Mark Johnston and William Buick were not disappointed however and believe that she will benefit from running over six furlongs next season.
