One of the top lots at Doncaster Premier Sale, Luxor grabbed the attention of several people before John and Jake were able to secure this colt for £190,000 guineas. By Champion sire, Oasis Dream, and out of a precocious two-year-old winner in Eminently, Luxor lines up alongside our more precocious types.

We have placed Luxor with William Haggas. He made his debut at Windsor and found the whole experience to be rather overwhelming. Nonetheless he coped well. Having got his maiden out of the way, we were looking forward to seeing him duplicate the quality of work he has produced on the Newmarket Heath. Three races later, Luxor is now enjoying a well deserved winter break with a place and two wins to his name, including the Sir Gerald Whent Memorial Nursery Handicap, the last prestigious nursery of the 2018 turf flat season in which he stormed home, impressing his partner Martin Harley.

Luxor has not got off to the best of starts to his three year old career finishing down the field at Windsor on ground that was too fast and then at York where he never seemed to hit his stride. His next run at Chelmsford saw little improvement and his jockey reported that he should be dropped back in trip to five furlongs.
