This beautiful and well-bred filly by New Approach is trained at Ralph Beckett's Kimpton Down Stables near Andover in Hampshire.

Her sire is responsible for numerous top-class horses, including Oaks winner Talent, who of course won the premier fillies’ Classic for Affable’s trainer.  Her dam was a useful winner and is a half-sister to Dante Stakes winner Libertarian.

Affable made her racecourse debut at Kempton in early February 2020 and ran a race full of promise.  Showing plenty of signs of greenness, missing the break and racing freely early, she understandably got a little tired in the closing stages and finished a fine third to a couple of fair sorts trained by Richard Hannon and Charlie Appleby.  Ran a more promising, settled race at Kempton early March over a mile finishing fifth.

She started the new turf season with a creditable fifth at Goodwood, just getting a little unbalanced at a crucial point in the race. She went much closer at Windsor next time, only beaten under two lengths and the penny seems to be dropping with every race. Affable finally got her glory after finishing 5th on four occasions, running a brilliant race at Newmarket on soft ground to come out triumphant, clearly showing that she relishes give in the ground. Her next time out at Newmarket was a fine performance in much better company to finish fourth only beaten by one and a half lengths, despite pulling hard for over half the race. Affable had her final run in the Highclere colours at Newbury where she once again ran too freely early on to be as effective as she should have been to finish 6th of 11 runners.

She is a winning filly with a lovely pedigree and so will hopefully sell to prospective breeders in the Tattersalls December Mare Sales.
