Platform Nineteen (IRE)

Platform Nineteen, who takes his name from the Waterloo to Ascot service for that delightful week in June when the racing world is drawn to the Royal Meeting, is by first season sire Australia and out of Susan Stroman. Australia was Champion Three-Year-Old Colt in Europe in 2014, winning multiple Group Ones including the Investec Derby, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and the Juddmonte International Stakes.

His first juveniles have made an immediate impact – five officially rated above the magic 100 with Beyond Reason a dual Group race winner.

Platform Nineteen was bred by Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber’s Watership Down Stud and his dam, Susan Stroman, is a half-sister to The Fugue. The Fugue was Champion Older Mare in 2013 and 2014. A multiple Group One winner, The Fugue’s credentials include Irish Champion Stakes, The Nassau Stakes, The Prince of Wales Stakes and the Yorkshire Oaks.

The Watership Down bloodlines are the most sought after in the world with Too Darn Hot the unbeaten and leading juvenile in Europe and his brother sold for a record £2.5m at the Tattersalls Sales.
