Raucous (GB)

This colt is from the first crop of the multiple Group 1 winning sprinter Dream Ahead and he has certainly stamped his stock well. He was a 100,000 Guineas purchase from Tattersalls. His dam Shyrl was an extremely speedy and precocious filly, only beaten a neck in The Queen Mary Stakes (Gr 2) at Royal Ascot.

Raucous has proven to be gifted his fair share of sprinting ability after claiming his his first two starts in impressive fashion before subsequently placing in both the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes and Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes. During his eleven starts to date he has been placed behind top class horses such as Group 1 winners Ribchester, The Tin Man and Shalaa, whom he finished third to in the final start of his three-year-old season in the Group 3 Bengough Stakes at Ascot. While he only shows two wins on his record, you can't knock his consistency, only missing the placings on three occasions. Since his gelding over the winter, we are expecting Raucous to find another gear this season with the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot as a likely target.
