This daughter of the leading sire Showcasing was foaled in early March and is bred to be a fast and precocious racehorse.  She was purchased by the team at Ireland’s premier sale, the Goffs Orby where Harry felt that she was an absolute belter and very good walker.

Showcasing is a top stallion and real influence for speed by Oasis Dream.  He has a very good percentage of black-type horses to runners that has been increasing year on year as the standard of mares covered has improved.  In 2018 he was the second leading British-based sire of 2yos in Europe, second only the marvellous Dubawi.  His best runners to date have been the Gr.1 winners Advertise and Quiet Reflection, the first-named backing up his Gr.1-winning 2yo campaign with a further two Gr.1 races in 2019; the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.  Click here to view sire information about Showcasing.

An exceptionally strong first foal out of a winning Dream Ahead mare, the successful sprinter Dream Dana, Operatic's pedigree is quite simply all about speed. Her 2nd dam was the multiple Group-winning sprinter Lidanna, the producer of numerous Stakes horses and herself the grandam of the Gr.1 Prix l’Abbaye sprint winner Wizz Kid.

Operatic is making very good progress under the management of Simon and Ed Crisford, on her debut she ran well but lost any chance of being competitive by becoming very unsettled in the stalls. After plenty of stalls practice at home, Operatic flew seven lengths clear at Windsor and followed this up with another win at Kempton under a 7lb penalty. Her last run was in the Bosra Sham (Listed) at the end of October where she didn't handle the very testing conditions and afterwards was put away for the season.

Operatic made a very encouraging three year old debut where she showed plenty of early speed before finishing a close up fourth at Goodwood. She then finished a promising 3rd at Newmarket, before getting upset in the stalls on her next start. She then turned this around at Windsor by winning a Sprint Series Qualifier in excellent fashion. She contest the final, but the ground wasn't as firm as she would have liked, yet still provided her owners with a great day out with superb hospitality in the box.
