Soloist, a beautiful daughter of Camelot, was far too green to do herself justice on her first few outings as a 3yo and missed the break before running on well on her handicap debut, beaten by only three lengths.

Soloist then ran a very good race at Carlisle on softer conditions, running on well in second place, so it was decided to move her up North to Keith Dalgleish where she would have more opportunities on the softer ground.  William Haggas sent her to race on the all-weather at Newcastle on her way to her new trainer, and the first-time blinkers did the trick as she got the better of the Sir Mark Prescott-trained favourite Scheme by almost two lengths over an extended 1m 4f.

She ran fantastically to break her maiden tag that day and has since raced on two occasions for her new trainer, once in very testing conditions at Hamilton where she finished fourth and soon after back at Newcastle, finishing one place better.
