St Saviour (GB)

St Saviour is a gelding that raced on the flat for Highclere when trained by Andrew Balding at two and three years of age. He won on very soft ground at Brighton before heading to the Tattersalls October Horses In Training Sale where he was bought back for 20,000 Guineas, which was good value considering he was a lightly raced progressive horse that was proven on the soft. He was sent into training with Philip Hobbs and didn’t take long to get off the mark over obstacles, posting two wins in as many starts in the New Year. He flew up the handicap and ran with credit in Graded company, but it was not until he returned to two miles on good ground that he got back to winning ways this April at Stratford.
