This fine-looking colt is trained by Freddy Head in the beautiful surroundings of Chantilly in France, a wonderful place for the stable visits for all of his owners!

Civilian’s pedigree is packed with Group winners and his sire Teofilo was a Champion 2yo with a bountiful list of Group 1 winners to his name, including Irishcorrespondent, Happy Clapper, Cross Counter and Humidor.

His breeding suggested that he would not be seen on the racecourse until later in his two-year-old season, but he wasn't quite mature enough to run and had an early winter holiday before returning to Freddy at the beginning of December 2019.  The signs have been positive throughout his routine training, Freddy reports that he moves well on the gallops and has a good attitude.  He has progessed well in faster work and his trainer had hoped to run him at Chantilly on March 19th before racing was abandoned the day before the race! He made an excellent start to finish second at Saint Cloud before going to on to win impressively over a mile and half in a maiden at Dieppe. He was full of running crossing the line and looks sure to get further in time. An exciting prospect, especially as he beat Paix (F-H Graffard) by an impressive three and three-quarter lengths at Dieppe and Paix recently has gone on to win the Group three Prix de Lutece at Longchamp by a length and a half.

Civilian has been put away until next season when he will hopefully go on to bigger and better things under the care of Freddy Head.
