Bahram was a quite remarkable racehorse who remained unbeaten in a career which included the Triple Crown. How good Bahram really was became the subject of considerable debate as he was a lazy animal who rarely won by large margins and he was foaled in a year when the opposition was weak. Also, he never met older horses. His career as a stallion was disjointed by transfer from here to the USA at the outbreak of the War and then to Argentina. In this country he got two good horses in Big Game and Persian Gulf who both became useful stallions.
