Highclere Australia
Harry has long harboured the ambition to race horses in Australia and it was Distinction who first made the journey to compete in The Melbourne Cup in 2004. He finished sixth that day and the whole experience will never be forgotten for all associated with the horse.
It was in 2012 that the first dual hemisphere syndicate was launched and the following year Opinion was transferred from Sir Michael Stoute's Freemason Lodge to Chris Waller's stable. In just one year Opinion's race earnings exceeded AUD $600,000 and he became a Group 1 winner.
The next import, Libran, followed in his footsteps earning over $800,000 in his first year, winning The Chairman's Handicap (Gr. 2) and finishing second in The Sydney Cup (Gr. 1).
Since then Highclere Australia has been expanding with yearling purchases at the Magic Millions Sale on the Gold Coast and further imports from the UK, Regal Monarch and Foundation.
