National Hunt

Jumpers were first offered by HTR in 2009 and standing alone the National Hunt division boasts an impressive 54% win/place strike rate. With over 65 horses in training HTR's National Hunt roster makes up a small, but growing proportion with about eight to ten jumpers in training at any one time. The best of these to date would have to be the enigmatic Bury Parade who was the winner of six races in Highclere's famous pale blue silks. He was at his best in 2013/14 when he won both The Weatherbys Hamilton Insurance Graduation Chase at Kempton and The Sodexo Handicap Chase at Ascot.

The horses are purchased from a variety of backgrounds, including France and the Point-to-Point fields of Ireland, by carefully selected bloodstock agents as well as the racehorse trainers themselves. As with our flat horses, the jumpers are placed with the best trainers in the National Hunt game, including the likes of multiple time Champion trainer Paul Nicholls, Philip Hobbs and Dan Skelton, who is raising the bar amongst the next generation of trainers.
