Diamond Jubilee was the Prince of Wales’s second Derby winner and went on to complete the Triple Crown. He was a full brother to Persimmon, but was generally considered to be inferior namely becuase of his rather dubious temperament. Indeed he became so difficult that, in the end, he had to be ridden in his Classic races by his stable lad Herbert Jones. After some years at Sandringham rather than continuining in competition with his brother, Diamond Jubilee was exported and became a good stallion in Argentina.
