Rock Sand belonged to Sir James Miller and in 1903 won the Triple Crown, 2000 Guineas, Derby and the St Leger. He had the odd quirk of appearing lame in his slower paces, but it obviously didn’t stop him when he was asked to win his races! Rock Sand was sold to the USA and then later to France, becoming a good stallion in both countries.
