Kacy Fogden

Location: Australia

Highclere Australia has added a new trainer to the team with the transfer of Shahi to Kacy Fogden in Queensland.

Based at the picturesque Aquis training facility at Canungra, Kacy sent out her first winner with just her 13th runner when Happy Two Thousand saluted at the Sunshine Coast in July last year.

Kacy then followed up with her first double as a trainer when King's Full and Dubai Tycoon won at the same course later that month and then V J Day gave her a first metropolitan winner at Doomben last November.

A New Zealander, Kacy has been pre-training manager at the Aquis Farm complex for several years before she branched out as a trainer of horses for Aquis and other mainly Asia based clients in 2019.

“We have our own private 1800 metre grass track on the Canungra base farm with a high speed treadmill, water walker and swimming pool,” Kacy explains.  “We also have a 20 horse stable at the Gold Coast turf club for horses that need a town environment. It’s all about planning and preparation and making sure we’re there at the right time and we’ll be doing our best to make sure we can get the right result.”

And as if the mother of a daughter, Isabelle, does not have enough to do, she is also a partner with husband Julian Blaxland in Newington Farm, a 60 acre boutique spelling property on the Canungra Creek at Biddaddaba a short drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
