Nicky Henderson
Location: Nr. Lambourn, Berkshire. Five-time Champion Trainer Nicky Henderson needs little to no introduction. Nicky took out his trainers license in 1978, having been assistant to Fred Winter, before moving to the now infamous Seven Barrows in 1992.
Nicky has a formidable Cheltenham Festival record, having sent out no less than 60 festival winners, 7 of which have come from the Champion Hurdle. See You Then in the late 1980s scored Nicky a hat trick in the race, a feat he attempted to emulate with back to back Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D'Air who fell in the 2019 renewal at the Festival. Nicky has handled some spectular jumpers in recent years, dominating the two-mile chasing Landscape with the King of the division Sprinter Sacre, and the King re-incarnate Altior. Nicky has also enjoyed Gold Cup success on two occasions with Long Run in 2011 and Bob's Worth in 2013. Long Run also added two King George's to the trainer's impressive record and this year he will send Might Bite to repeat his 2017 success.
Highclere Thoroughbred Racing has now established a strong partnership with the Champion Trainer. Nicky sent Highclere's Style De Garde to finish second in the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle at The Cheltenham Festival, having won his debut race at Newbury by an eye-watering 8 lengths. Highclere has some exciting young horses with Nicky and there is no doubt there will be many more successful days ahead!
