Nicky has trained over 1500 winners including 32 at the Cheltenham Festival and has twice been champion trainer. He trained the great but fragile See You Then to win three Champion Hurdles in the ’80s and won the race again in 2009 and 2010 with Punjabi and Binocular. Last season he saddled Long Run to win the Grade 1 Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grade 1 King George VI Chase and trained the winners of 153 races. In 1992 he moved to Seven Barrows, Lambourn with its private gallops which have produced so many historic winners in the past. He first trained for Highclere in 2000 and The Royal Ascot Racing Club in 2001, with horses winning under NH rules for both.
