Richard Hannon

Richard Hannon Snr retired, at the end of the 2013 season, at the height of his popularity and success. He brought down the curtain on a glittering career which had seen him crowned champion trainer five times holding the then record of 4193 winners.  In recognition of his outstanding achievements,  Richard Snr was awarded The Cartier/Daily Telegraph Award of Merit in 2010 for his lifetime contribution to European racing.

The transition to Richard Hannon Jnr at the family-run Wiltshire-based operation has been extremely successful with the Hannons producing such winners as Memory, Bonus, Prizeman, Regiment, Census, Gusto and Asset for Highclere - and still the winners keep coming. Richard Jnr, quite unprecedented, followed his father’s 2013 Champion trainer’s title by winning the title himself in 2014. The total winners for the 2018 season will pass 150 this month and prize money has already topped two and a half million pounds.

As ever, our owners are assured of the warmest of welcomes at Herridge with father and son the top double act in racing.
