Richard Hannon continues to be one of Britain’s leading trainers and in a career spanning thirty six years, he has trained over a hundred winners a season for the last fourteen years including three winners of the Two Thousand Guineas: Mon Fils (1973), Don’t Forget Me (1987) and Tirol (1990) and more recently saddled star miler Canford Cliffs to win five Group 1 races. Richard has produced numerous winners for HTR including Stakes performers Memory, Bonus, Prizeman, Regiment and Asset. Richard’s Wiltshire-based operation is a family run affair and HTR’S owners are always assured of the warmest of welcomes when coming to see their horses. Richard’s son, Richard Jnr, is the assistant trainer while son-in-law Richard Hughes is the yard’s regular jockey. Richard was awarded The Cartier/Daily Telegraph Award of Merit in 2010 for his lifetime contribution to European racing and was also crowned Champion Trainer of 2010 and 2011.
