Sir Henry Cecil
It is a privilege to add Sir Henry Cecil to the Highclere training ranks. A living legend, he has trained from his famous Warren Place stables in Newmarket, the winners of 36 Classics, including four Epsom Derby’s with Slip Anchor (1985), Reference Point (1987), Commander in Chief (1993) and Oath (1999). He has trained an incredible eight Epsom Oaks winners and over 350 Group winners.
More recently, he guided Twice Over to score five Group 1 races and Midday to six at the highest level including a hattrick of victories in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood.
In 2011 he handled and guided the extraordinarily talented Frankel who remains unbeaten in nine lifetime starts including five Group 1 victories. Since he took out his license in 1969, Cecil has been champion trainer 10 times.
