Sir Michael Stoute began training in 1972. His first Classic victory came six years later with Fair Salinia in the 1978 Oaks and, ever since, he has been producing top-class winners from his yard in Newmarket. Champion Trainer for the tenth time in 2006, he has won twenty five Classics in England and Ireland, including five Epsom Derbys, three Breeders Cups, two Japan Cups and the Dubai World Cup and in 2010 Workforce provided his first win in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Sir Michael has been a trainer for HTR since its inception with champions such as Petrushka and Delilah as well as Distinction who, since retirement, leads Sir Michael’s horses onto the gallops each morning. In 2010 Sir Michael trained Harbinger to four Group wins, including the record-breaking eleventh length victory in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Gr 1) at Ascot.
