Cachet heads to Paris following another huge week for Highclere runners.
14th May, 2022
Classic winning Cachet, fresh from her massive win in the Newmarket 1000 Guineas heads across the pond to try and do what few English files have achieved, namely to win the French equivalent at Longchamps tomorrow.
Highclere horses had a week to remember at York’s Dante meeting, with Spycatcher running the best race of his career when finishing second in the Duke of York. Arguably unlucky not to have won the All Weather Sprint Championships last month, this horse just keeps on improving and showed that he can now compete with the very best.
Royal Patronage ran a huge race in the Dante on Thursday to also finish second to the now Derby favourite Desert Crown. A trip to Epsom on June 4th remains a strong possibility but all options are being considered.
Thunderous too ran the race of his career when taking Stradivarius all the way in the Yorkshire Cup. Under a canny ride from Franny Norton, who rode this thoroughly genuine colt to victory in the Dante two years ago, he would arguably have finished even closer had he been upsides the favourite during the final furlong.
