Highclere gears up for massive weekend at Newmarket
28th April, 2022
What could be more exciting than having two runners in two Classics on the same weekend and in the year of your 30th anniversary! Well that is exactly what is happening for both the owners of Royal Patronage and Cachet this weekend. Harry Herbert started Highclere in 1992 and could only dreamt that he would be managing two potential classic winners in such an auspicious year.
Royal Patronage may be an outsider in the market at 33-1, but with a Coroebus a 4-1 shot, defeated by our horse on the same track last season, he looks a very long price! He will hopefully run a big race on Saturday in the 2000 Guineas and set himself up for a run in the Derby om June 4th. Cachet, a leading contender for the 1000 Guineas, has earned her place in the Classic with a resounding victory in the Nell Gwyn and loves the Rowley Mile having won at the track on two occasions, so will hopefully be giving her owners a huge shout on Sunday!
