This is a strong and precocious looking son of Starspangledbanner. Starspangledbanner was a European Champion sprinter a proven Gr.1 sire by Choisir who oozes speed, power and class. He was the best son of Choisir and closely related to multiple Group 1 winners Haradasun & Elvstroem. He won the Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot just like his sire Choisir, he also won the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket like leading sire Oasis Dream, the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate, just like Fastnet Rock and won the Caulfield Guineas-Gr.1 in a faster time than the proven sire's Redoute's Choice and Lonhro. Some of Starspangledbanner's top performers include European Champion two-year-old filly Millisle (winner of the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes and the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes), The Wow Signal (Group 1 winner and winner of the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot), Anthem Alexander (3 time winner including the Group 2 Queen Mary and Group 3 Lacken Stakes and finished third in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot) and many more.

He is out of a mare who has already produced a listed winner with her second foal and the pedigree is packed full of black type. Richard Hannon will train him and there is a connection to Richard in this colt’s pedigree as a half sister to the dam produced the triple listed winner Tupi who Richard trained and who won over £200,000 in prizemoney.

Tyson is very precocious, showing plenty of speed at home and made an encouraging debut at Newbury's Greenham meeting. Despite pulling far to hard during the early stages of the race the penny eventually dropped, allowing him to finsih off well. He so nearly won his first race next time up at Doncaster when going down by the smallest of margins and giving ten pounds to the winner. He looked likely to win next time but pulled way to hard in a maiden at Nottingham and couldn't finish off his race. He was since been gelded and was working well at home and started to settle in his pieces of work which is very promising and he came so close on his reapparence at Ascot to be just denied after a gusty performance coming up the rail. He then bumped into a good one again at Wolverhampton before getting off the mark at Bath having been dropped back to 5f to get a deserved win on the board for his owners.

Tyson sustained a setback but should be ready to run again in the late spring.
