Harry’s Introduction…
It’s all happening with runners galore and there have been some really thrilling results for team HTR since our last newsletter. But there is so much more to come especially when the rains eventually arrive to ease the very fast ground which is holding some of our horses back.
August and September will be the busiest months runner wise of the year so buckle up everyone and enjoy the ride!
With my best wishes,
Harry Herbert
Chairman
ON THE TRACK
The flat racing season has burst into life this month, and it’s been a thrill to see our three-year-old and older horses in action.
New owner experience
The day was totally different to what we were used to and met some amazing, interesting people from all walks of life, who had amazing stories to tell of their experiences with Highclere stables.
Clodagh’s Recipe
The sun is out and Spring is here I thought this lemony cheesecake with hazelnut biscuit base would provide the perfect seasonal pudding this month!
TAITTINGER MOMENT
The Taittinger Moment this month can only go to Harry. After coming through open-heart surgery, it was wonderful to see him make a memorable return at the Tractor Shed, proudly parading our exciting breeze-up prospect. You certainly couldn’t say his heart isn’t in the game, and we’re all looking forward to welcoming him back in full force this May.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW
My daughter (13) has taken him on and he is turning his hoof to pony club now, showing potential in all rallies attended, everyone always commenting on how beautiful he is. Joey is turning into a gorgeous all rounder and we feel super lucky that he came to us! He is loved deeply and so much fun to ride! We cannot wait to see what his future holds, I may have had him stolen from under my nose by my daughter 😅 but I actually love watching them progress together, it's beautiful.
