On arrival we were greeted with refreshments in the recently refurbished βTractor Shedβ at Highclere Stud. Guests gathered to discuss the yearlings they were about to see, looking through the brochure and hoping to select their favourite yearling!
We then moved down to the grand stand for the main event - the parade of the yearlings, the moment everyone has been waiting for! Once settled into their seats the team showcased eleven outstanding yearlings in front of an admiring crowd. These beautifully bred animals are the result of weeks of studying hundreds of horses at the sales.
The trainers who will be taking the yearlings under their care were invited up to comment on their horses which made for a unique insight into each animal.
Once the parade is over guests went into the stables to meet the horses and get up close to them, which is a special moment, and can be the deciding factor into taking a share.
Then its time to warm up and head down for a delicious lunch, set in a stunning autumnal marqee overlooking the rolling hills of Highcere Stud hills, flanked with images of winners from the season. Prizes are awarded and stories are told, but most of all the excited chatter of βwhich horse have you bought intoβ is heard throughout.
This year saw a more precocious bunch of two year olds than there have been in previous years, and most shares have already been snapped up! But I do hope you take the time to look at the few remaining shares we have available, as these are really are very special group of yearlings. With a Royal Ascot winner in two consecutive years we are excited to see which of our class of 2026 could follow suit next season!
