Harry’s Introduction…
It’s all happening with runners galore and there have been some really thrilling results for team HTR since our last newsletter. But there is so much more to come especially when the rains eventually arrive to ease the very fast ground which is holding some of our horses back.
August and September will be the busiest months runner wise of the year so buckle up everyone and enjoy the ride!

rolf’s ramblings
The Racing Post recently ran a series on professional gamblers. Phil Bull was the only one not ‘active’ – he died in 1989. Phil had Marxist ‘tendencies’: Karl Marx had ‘Bullish’ tendencies, the father of Communism gambled on our Stock Exchange. Phil (not Karl) used “Brother” to address fellow gamblers, employees, the great and the good. And it wasn’t always a term of endearment - some ‘Brothers’ got the dreaded Timeform “squiggle” – normally reserved for racehorses with dubious characters.
Highclere owner Experience
Having purchased a share in Knowledge in December 2024 it was very welcome news that he was to race at Southwell on 17th January 2026. I told myself it wasn’t worth travelling almost 4 hours to see Knowledge run his maiden race but the fear of missing something special got the better of me and I decided to go.
