Awaken lands the prize in emphatic fashion at Leicester
Awaken finishes second in a determined performance in the Albany at Royal Ascot (Gr3)
One standout two-year-old that has been making headlines in her first season is Awaken, a striking and athletic filly by Mehmas. She made an immediate impression on debut at Yarmouth, finishing a close second—denied victory by just half a length.
Her next outing marked a significant step up in Class as she contested the Group 3 Albany Stakes at none other than Royal Ascot. There, she put in a decisive and professional performance, finishing an impressive runner-up in one of the racing calendar’s most prestigious juvenile contests. To bring owners such enjoyment and success on the world stage so early on in her career is testament to her ability and George Boughey’s training. George then made the decision to send her to Leicester where she deservedly got off the mark in emphatic fashion.
George has always spoken highly of this filly and he is confident there will be plenty more to come as she continues to grow and strengthen this year. She is of course by Mehmas, a sire who has proven successful for us and George before with Believing..!! She now heads to the rescheduled Dick Poole (Gr3) at Salisbury - where the trainer is confident that she is a “versatile filly who can handle both the trip and the ground”…what this space!
