A VISIT TO WHITSBURY MANOR

A group of about 20 shareowners were welcomed to the beautiful Whitsbury Manor Stud in Hampshire for a behind the scenes look at one of the UK's leading stud farms. The morning began with light refreshments at the stud and an overview of the history from Stud Director Ed Harper.

We were shown the stallions currently standing at Whitsbury, including Havana Grey, who continues to stand for a private fee, alongside Showcasing, Dragon Symbol, and new recruit Elite Status, Havana Grey's own highest rated son on the racecourse.

The visit included a full tour of the stud, giving attendees an insight into the day to day operation behind breeding and raising young Thoroughbreds. This was followed by a talk on foal conformation, covering what to look for when assessing a young horse's physical development and potential. We then had the opportunity to view this year's yearlings at a dedicated yearling show, accompanied by a pedigree walkthrough highlighting the bloodlines behind several of the horses due to go through the yearling sales.

The day concluded with a short trip to the Cartwheel Inn in the village of Whitsbury for lunch, bringing an informative and enjoyable day to a close.
